Techkidz – Camp Info
DATE AND TIME – SUMMER CAMPS:
The Camp runs from Monday – Friday.
Morning Camps run from 10.00am – 12.30pm
Afternoon Camps run 2.30pm – 5.00pm.
*Camps run Tue-Sat 2nd-6th August
DROP OFF & COLLECTION: We are putting in place a staggered drop off and collection system. We will notify you by email the week before the camp with your allocated drop off and collection time. No supervision will be provided outside of the Camp hours.
FULL PAYMENT: The balance of the Camp fee must be paid in full 10 days before camp begins. The balance can be paid online @old.techkidz.ie
FOOD AND DRINK: Children may bring a snack to camp. Please note that peanuts or products with peanuts are not allowed as we have a number of children attending with peanut allergies.
CANCELLATION POLICY: All booking deposits of €50 are non-refundable. You will receive a refund on any additional balance paid if you cancel up to 10 days before the camp commences.
Campers may transfer to an alternative week without loss of the deposit subject to availability. Once you commence the Camp, there is no refund of camp fees. The only exception to the above cancellation policy is, if Techkidz has to cancel a camp for any reason, including to comply with Public Health Guidelines. In these circumstances a full refund will be given. Any participant whose conduct is deemed by the camp manager to be detrimental to the best interest of the programme will be dismissed and no refund will be made.
GROUPS: Children are divided into groups based on age and ability. To ensure the smooth running of the camps, it will not always be possible to facilitate requests for friends, cousins or siblings to be in the same group or indeed for younger children to placed in the older groups but we always try our best to accommodate your requests. Please do not worry as our system is tried and tested over 20 years and works well. Your child will be assigned to their specific group on the first day and will remain in this group for the duration of the camp.
MY CHILD HAS DONE THE CAMP BEFORE: For children that have done the Camp before there will be a mixture of old and new activities. Children love to do some of the old favourites and repetition is a very important part of learning. As the children get older we introduce extra elements to the activities to challenge and help them achieve higher standards.
The purpose of the camp is to teach and improve children’s computer skills as well as introducing them to Computational Thinking and Coding. It’s also about their personal development and most of all it’s about fun.
FUN: We would like to remind parents that above all our Techkidz is a FUN Summer Camp.
USB Stick: If your child wants to bring home their work each day they are welcome to bring a USB stick with them. We can also put on some extra notes and hand outs for the camp. We will have Techkidz branded USB stick for sale at €10 if your child would like one.
PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEO: Photographs and video may be taken at the camp for promotional reasons.
